Luscious locks, who doesn’t want them? Am I right? Whether your rocking long locks, or a chic blunt cut, we all want healthy, shiny, #hairgoals. I get asked if I have extensions all the time, its such a compliment. I will admit, it is partially genetic, I am Italian and there is no short of hair anywhere on my body, if you feel me. I started shaving my arms when I was 14. So, I have always been kind of blessed in that department. However, a few years ago I decided I was over my boring brown hair and I wanted to go blonde. Yes, BLONDE. I didn’t make a drastic jump, I gradually kept adding more and more highlights every time I went in. PS. Shoutout to my colorist @livvirden and my stylist @kelseygusto because they are hair queens and took me to the light side without completely wrecking my hair. Back to my point, luckily because of these E A S Y tricks, my hair had stayed in tip top shape, and I think these apply to everyone. Spoiler alert: One of them is FREE. Okay here they are:

SCRUNCHIES: You guys, run to your bathroom and throw away all of your elastics RIGHT NOW. Like, right now. I cannot stress this enough, this is my #1 tip for your hair. I made the switch to scrunchies when my hair dresser told me I had tons of breakage near the back of my neck. Especially with how much I workout, my hair is in a pony or bun every day. And I was developing a nice chunk of hair near the back of my neck that was about 3-4 inches long, SCARY. I do not use elastics ever, and I have zero breakage,  I mean zero. Just do it. You can get a pack of 10 on amazon for dirt cheap. Not to mention they are super fun & cute.

  1. SATIN PILLOW CASE: Ah, laying my head on a sating pillow case at night makes me feel like royalty. Not actually, but you get the point. Not only will this keep your hair soft and silky, and prevent fly aways, but its also better for your skin! Double whammy. We sleep on our pillow for 6-8 hours straight, a satin pillow case will help prevent wrinkles on your face, and keep your hair silky smooth. Plus, it just feels super luxurious.

  2. COCONUT OIL: Unless you have been living under a rock, I think we all know by this time that coconut oil is basically Gods gift humanity. I could list the 100 things it is useful for, but I will stay on topic. Okay heres the deal, I do this 2-4 times per month. Once a week is ideal, but if I’m being honest, that rarely happens. Alright, stick your hand in that jar and grab a big olool'. Scoop, starting at your ends, massage through your hair. Super important that you do this on dry hair, not damp/wet hair. Has to be dry. Thoroughly cover your hair, stopping about 6-10 inches from your root. Especially the ends, where that shit is extra dry. Tie your hair in a top knot with a scrunchies ;) And hit the hay. Yes, sleep with this on your hair overnight. Wake up, rise well, and TA DA! You're going to die over how soft and healthy your hair feels. If you have extra dry hair, or you bleach your hair like me, definitely aim for once a week. Or for a quick fix, leave in for an hour. Still helps a ton.

  3. COLD WATER: This is my hair tip that costs you absolutely nothing, and will make all the difference in the world. Do not wash your hair with hot water, sorry babes. Water alone weakens hair, hot water is twice as bad. This doesn’t mean you have to take a cold shower, this is how I do it. If it's a morning shower, I typically start with a cold rinse anyway to wake myself up, and then switch to Luke warm. Limiting water time all together on your hair is a plus. So I will tie my hair up, do what I need to do in the shower. And then at the very end, wash and condition my hair with Luke warm water, and finish with a cold rinse for extra shine. I used to avidly take scolding hot showers, and the heat made my hair so dry and brittle and prone to breakage. This tip is a game changer.
